Supervisor - Corrosion

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $101,404-$126,755.

Job Summary:
Responsible for operations, maintenance, and direct supervision of Cathodic and Atmospheric Corrosion programs for SCG.

Responsible for staff of Bargaining Unit employees to meet regulatory compliance of mandated Cathodic and Atmospheric corrosion control programs. Prepares and communicates program status and performance. Promotes employee development and training opportunities. Provides guidance and mentoring to promote operational best practices. Responsible for all electronic corrosion data inspection processes and inspection databases. Supports Gas Field Operations and other departments. Applies company, industry, local, state, national codes, and standards, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Interacts with customers, developers, municipalities, agencies, and others. Works with technical support contractors and consultants. Reviews, maintains, and utilizes SAP equipment data and SAP processes supporting the corporate use of contractor/consultant resources.
Employee is assigned to SCG-Orange location with travel to other operating divisions or Avangrid locations as needed. Occasional work outside of the service territory for industry, meetings, or training may occur.


Major Roles & Responsibilities:
•Supervise and manage employees performing corrosion control work activities safely to meet Federal and State mandated requirements.
•Responsible to develop policies/procedures and schedule work to safely meet or exceed departmental and corporate goals and objectives.
•Oversee department's initiatives and cost control.
•Responsible for Corrosion Group goals and objectives and ensuring alignment with department and corporate goals. Performs performance evaluations, recommends candidates for hire and salary adjustments, provides coaching and counseling toward performance improvement and guides development of staff in group. Manages the application of the union labor agreement.
•Responsible for the preparation and communication of reports to document performance in meeting department, corporate, and regulatory goals, and requirements.
•Represent the company on various teams or committees with Avangrid, state, regional or national issues. Act as liaison for the Company with customers and with state and municipal agencies to coordinate efforts.
•Interfaces with and supports Gas Planning, Engineering and Delivery and Gas Field Operations. Provides resources and technical expertise to support the design, operation, maintenance and inspection of distribution and transmission systems.

Job Requirements:
Education & Experience Required:
•Associate's Degree in a Technical field of study with a minimum of 5 years of technical experience in gas systems or related experience or a High School Diploma/GED equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of experience can be substituted for a degree.
•Bachelor's degree or higher with minimum of 4 four years of technical experience in gas systems or Master's degree in a technical field of study with a minimum of 2 years related experience is also acceptable. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
