Chief Engineer
What this job involves:
The Chief Engineer is responsible for all facility operating systems at the specified site(s). They will manage and assign work duties to the Building Engineers and Maintenance Technicians as well as have a hands-on role in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing all facility operating systems.
Responsibilities
Oversee the scheduling, maintenance, and monitoring of all heating, ventilating, air conditioning, water, electric, emergency backup systems and other base building systems to ensure efficient operation.
Implements and schedules preventative maintenance standards that are in compliance with Jones Lang LaSalle and client guidelines.
Manages and schedules all projects that have been delegated to the operating engineers and maintenance technicians. Reviewing work performed for accuracy and quality at the highest standard.
Prepares and submits client/JLL maintenance reports (UPS batteries, QER, Overtime, Energy, SEP, etc.).
Evaluates vendors and suppliers on a regular basis with regard to quality and competitive pricing.
Communicates regularly with the Site Manager and attends scheduled staff meetings/calls.
Review and analyse system data (reliability, 1 calls, etc) and develop recommendations with the Site Manager on any maintenance changes, upgrades, replacements, etc.
Maintains a critical parts inventory and monitors it throughout the year.
Other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

Lead, manage, develop and supervise a professional, friendly, creative, energetic, and detail oriented team in the delivery of efficient building operations.
Provide excellent onboarding, training, and team building.

Participate in the individual performance management program and personal development planning for members of the team
Align with the facilities leadership team as a manager and act in a managerial capacity.

Universal Certification required
Refrigeration licence a plus but not required
Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
Strong customer service skills are required.
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Skilled in the use of tools and machinery required by the position.
Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes.
Proficiency in a range of information technology tools and platforms.
