What this job involves:

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Jr. Reliability Engineer to join our team:

  • Location: San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico.

  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

  • Work model: On site.

  • Contract Type: Indefinite-term.

This role is responsible for providing reliability engineering support for operations and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, and equipment assets. Responsibilities include analyzing the reliability of assets, conducting root cause failure analysis, and improving maintenance programs.

What is your day to day?

- Maintenance Planning

  • Prepare work packages for planned maintenance activities
  • Identify required permits and safety requirements
  • Estimate labor hours and costs for each work order
  • Develop standard work routines and task lists
  • Communicate work packages to Maintenance Supervisor

- Reliability Engineering

  • Create and manage equipment preventative maintenance tasks
  • Rank criticality of assets and define proactive maintenance approaches
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies for critical assets
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis
  • Support equipment failure investigations

- Condition-based Maintenance

  • Understand moving and rotating equipment from maintenance perspective
  • Utilize predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, oil analysis, etc.)
  • Plan and execute engineering operations and equipment condition assessments
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies for equipment performance
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis

- Workflow Management

  • Maintain accurate records in CMMS system
  • Develop and track Key Performance Indicators for equipment reliability
  • Implement maintenance and reliability metrics throughout the site
  • Analyze equipment history for trends
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Planning groups

Required:

  • BS in an Engineering discipline, mechanical or electrical preferred.
  • Formal maintenance planning/scheduling training.
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience implementing RCM, CbM/PdM methods, operating building automation and energy management systems, and thorough understanding of asset management, data analytics, and capital planning approaches.
  • Experience in critical / regulated environments preferred (data centers, laboratories, manufacturing environments, automotive, petro-chemicals, pharmaceutical etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire suppression systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial, critical, manufacturing, labs, or distribution facility types required.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of various CMMS software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the maintenance/operations organization.

Skills required:

  • Proven ability to read, comprehend and apply information from technical manuals and other reference materials
  • Ability to make informed recommendations in situations where data sets may be incomplete
  • Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
  • Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to balance multiple stakeholder requirements
  • Able to interpret how the organizational goals and strategy translate into service or departmental activity
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to manipulate large amounts of data accurately using different spreadsheet formats
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and assist with implementing them
  • Ability to engage with client/team stakeholders at senior level
  • Ability to distill large/complex challenges in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work with team to get the job done
  • Effective communication
