Graduate Ground Engineering & Tunnelling

Our Engineers apply their specialist skills to buildings and infrastructure projects across the globe. The Opportunity 

The Ground Engineering & Tunnelling teams pull together a large variety of specialists from different backgrounds.  We are Civil Engineers, Geotechnical Engineers, Engineering Geologists, Tunnelling Engineers, Seismic Engineers, Geoenvironmental Engineers, Environmental Scientists, Geologists, Natural Hazard Specialists, Geophysicists, Hydrogeologists, and Data Scientists. The following roles are intended to capture the needs of both our core roles and specialists that we have available this year.  

 

Geotechnical Engineers  (click here to learn more & apply)

Available locations: Birmingham, London, Leeds, Sheffield, Cardiff, Southampton, Bristol, Belfast and Newcastle. 

An opportunity to develop a strong base in ground engineering, problem solve and develop designs, or specialise in areas such as numerical modelling, seismic, risk and resilience, or sustainability. You will focus on geotechnical aspects at all stages of the project lifecycle, including desk studies, ground investigation, analysis & design, construction supervision & monitoring, and asset management.   

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or similar subject, at 2.1 or above (predicted or attained). Preferably with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or post-graduate qualification in Geotechnics, Soil Mechanics, Seismic Engineering or related subject.  Sponsorship London only.

 

Engineering Geologists (click here to learn more & apply)

Available locations: Birmingham, Nottingham, London, Bristol and Cardiff. 

Our Engineering Geologists develop a strong foundation for ground engineering; undertake desk studies, interpret and assimilate data to prepare ground models, assess risk, and contribute to the engineering design process.  With potential for project involvement that span the fields of rock mechanics, hydrogeology, geomorphology, geohazard and risk, offshore site characterisation, seismic engineering, geospatial analysis, and digital. There is an opportunity to shape your future, whether you aspire to be a generalist or specialist in a particular field.  

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Science, Geophysics, or related subject, at 2.1 or above (predicted or attained); Preferably a post-graduate qualification (Master's or PhD) in Engineering Geology, Geotechnics, Soil Mechanics, or Rock Mechanics. Tunnelling Engineer (click here to learn more & apply)

Available locations: Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and London. 

An opportunity to develop a wide range of core skills in tunnel design, spanning the fields of ground engineering and structural design on smaller feasibility commissions through to major projects. To carry out empirical, analytical, and numerical analyses tasks for the designs of tunnels, shafts and underground spaces, using various construction methods in a range of ground conditions. 

A post-graduate qualification (MEng MSc, PhD or equivalent) in a field of study relevant to tunnelling & underground construction, e.g. Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Engineering Geology , Mining Engineering, or equivalent. Sponsorship London only.
