The Opportunity

The Arup Process Engineering teams have opportunities for chemical engineering graduates.  The work is extremely varied involving participation within the Public Sector and Private Sectors across the UK and abroad. 

With a multi-disciplined team, Arup is able to offer a process engineering orientated approach to cost effective water & wastewater treatment across water, green energy and other industrial sectors such as waste and nuclear. The in-house capability allows us to undertake projects from the development of fee proposals, conceptual designs, feasibility studies and report writing, through to the detailed process design and optimisation of complete turnkey installations along with commercial and technical evaluation of innovative technologies and development of sustainable business strategies.

The person is expected to have a good comprehension of Chemical Engineering. Experience of design projects would be beneficial.   

You will work with team members to deliver an effective and professional service to our clients. Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of our design teams, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experts.  

 

Is this role right for you?

We're looking for the following qualifications, attributes and skills:  

  • Masters level Chemical Engineering degree with prediction or attainment of 2:1 or higher  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills  
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Office and demonstrate an ability to learn new software within a working environment that utilises 3D design and digital automation  
  • Some experience with coding languages  
  • Interest in a career in Chemical Engineering underpinned by a knowledge and understanding of our sector and work  
  • Have an analytical thought process  
  • Seek to improve existing ways of working, by finding efficiencies in processes  
  • The aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive
