Start Date    8th September 2025

BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

We design and build a full range of naval ships from offshore patrol vessels through to giant aircraft carriers, giving customers the capability to fulfil extensive naval operations around the world.  We are the only provider of complex warships and their combat managements to the UK Royal Navy’s surface fleet. What you will be doing

As a Quality Graduate within the core Combat Systems equipment and projects area, you will be responsible for working with multiple functions to provide process guidance and co-ordinate significant aspects of quality activity across various life cycle phases. You will be involved in highly skilled work to drive business improvement activities and ensure system and functional requirements are met. You will develop your knowledge and skills across a range of Quality activities including; Quality assurance, Quality Management Systems, internal audit and investigation, performance management, quality tools and techniques, validation and verification, non-conformance management and change management.

Your critical role in Predicting, Preventing and Protecting Quality will ensure no two days are the same.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide independent oversight of process performance and product quality, and support Quality Assurance team activities including advice and guidance on quality matters during project execution, audits and reporting, quality planning and test witnessing and associated activities.
  • Support investigations into technical or operational issues to analyse problems and develop and prepare suitable solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Support continuous improvement through implementation of the quality improvement programme, with particular regard to the development of suitable metrics and analysis of performance data.
  • Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to provide information and influence decisions in relation to: product compliance, quality risks, issues related to efficiency and effectiveness, and to support actions to address any identified area of concern.
  • Develop knowledge of project and engineering lifecycles and practice.
  • Utilise IT software packages to produce technical documentation to aid complex engineering programmes.

Skills As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Technical discipline.

Export Control/Security

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
