BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Industrial Placement programme you will be required to attend your site up to 4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

What you will be doing
Site Engineering ensures that all activities on-site are conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations. You will work closely with teams of skilled engineers, providing governance and oversight on a wide range of engineering projects that are vital to the success of our business. From maintaining existing infrastructure to supporting the development of new facilities, your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our site operates seamlessly.
You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineers, project managers, and external contractors, to ensure that all engineering work aligns with safety standards and site requirements. This placement will provide you with hands-on experience in overseeing complex engineering processes, problem-solving in real-time, and driving innovative solutions that enhance our operations.
Barrow shipyard is undergoing significant growth, with new buildings and upgrades to existing facilities, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that our engineering activities not only meet our current needs but also pave the way for future success. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in engineering governance and compliance, all while contributing to the delivery of world-class submarines and weapon systems for our customers.

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to be on track to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline, such as Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering.
