4 Fun Things To Do Over the Long Weekend in London

1.     Zip-line across central London

For the daredevils out there, Zip Now London has set up 225-long zip line in South Bank. Strap in and hold on tight as you whoosh past the London Eye and Houses of Parliament and take in a view like no other. Prices are £22.50 for adults, £18.50 for students and £16.50 for children.

 2.     Jump back in time to the roaring twenties

Spectacular Cinema is having a special screening of The Great Gatsby, so step out in your best tux and flappiest dress, smuggle in some booze, and enjoy the show. Reception begins at 1.30pm with a special ragtime jazz performance by the Diamond Girls – and a chance to jump up on stage yourself.

3.     Uncover Frida Kahlo’s workroom

As part of the V&A’s special exhibit on the legendary Frida Kahlo, you can explore interactive rooms done up in homage to ‘La Casa Azul’, Frida’s famous Mexico City home. While at night you can take part in workshops inspired by the artist’s style – including flower arranging, headdress making, floral embroidery and self-portraiture classes all led by leading designers. The workshops will set you back about £20-£25, although parts of the exhibit are free.

 4.     Watch street art come to life

The city’s largest street art festival comes to life in Shoreditch – where else? Artists will cover one of the largest walls in the borough with street art and graffiti to a soundtrack of beatboxes and DJs. Entry is free and the event runs from midday at the Nomadic Community Gardens.
