American Football Player Aaron Hernandez Came Out To Mother Before Committing Suicide In Prison
The American Football player Aaron Hernandez “tearfully” told his mother he was gay before committing suicide in his prison cell. His family still believes he became a killer to hide his secret sex life, according to his brother.
‘New York Post’ reports that Aaron and his mother were “flooded with tears” during a prison visit when he confided about his sexuality.
“He’s like, ‘Mom, you’re going die never knowing your son,’ ” his brother Jonathan recalled in a recent interview.
“Then all of a sudden they have this conversation and they’re both flooded with tears across from each other,” Jonathan added, recalling “the weight of what’s on my brother is being expressed and for a mother to be looking at it across from the scratched glass.”
Aaron’s mother was the only member of the family he came out to, with his brother not knowing and Jonathan certain he had been to afraid to talk to his brutal” father.
“I don’t know if he would have been able to finish his sentence,” Jonathan said, when asked what would have happened if Aaron told his dad about his “conflicted thoughts” on his sexuality.
“I can’t imagine him even being able to — my dad would have thought he could beat that out of him,” the brother said.
Hernandez was convicted of murder in 2015 and sentenced to life in prison. He committed suicide in prison in 2017.
