Democrat Politician Lied About Helping Pulse Massacre Victims

Democrat politician Elizabeth McCarthy lied about being a doctor and helping victims from the Pulse massacre.

McCarthy said she was working as a cardiologist at the Orlando Regional Medical Centre (ORMC) on June 12, 2016, the night of the shooting.

“Yes, I was working that night,” she said.

“I removed 77 bullets out of 32 people, and helped with the triage.”

The website Florida Politics first reported on June 15 that something did not add up with McCarthy’s story.

They found that McCarthy had been registered as a nurse, but that that had expired in 2005 and there was no evidence of her becoming a doctor.

ORMC also had no record of employing her.

Following the story, the Florida Department of Health launched an investigation into McCarthy and found that she had indeed been lying about being a doctor.

“I lied,” McCarthy told investigators, according to a charging affidavit.

“It is a false statement. I just made it up.

“I wanted to be somebody in the community, and I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I gave any impersonation. I knew it was wrong and I should have stopped — by no means did I ever mean to put anybody in jeopardy.”

McCarthy was then served with a cease and desist order and charged with a $1000 fine.
