Euphoria Star Hunter Schafer Has Been Cast in The Hunger Games Prequel

Euphoria Star Hunter Schafer Schafer has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, a prequel to the hit film series, Variety reports.

She will appear alongside The Gilded Age’s Tom Blyth and West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler, who won the Golden Globe for her performance in the musical remake. Schafer is set to play Tigris Snow, the cousin to Blyth’s Coriolanus Snow, who eventually becomes the despotic ruler of the dystopian Hunger Games world, according to Them.

The film follows the Snow family, which is down on its luck in a post-war Capitol and involves training Zegler’s Lucy Gray Baird for the 10th annual Hunger Games. Those eager to see Schafer take to the big screen will have to wait a little bit. The film will have the same director, Francis Lawrence, as the final three films in the series, Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part One and Mockingjay Part Two.

Though Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence won’t star, she will produce the film. The film debuts November 17, 2023. If that’s too far for you, Schafer will also be appearing in the horror film Cuckoo, which began filming earlier this year.

Schafer is one of the breakout stars of the hit show Euphoria, in which she plays Jules Vaughn, a best friend and sometimes love interest to Zendaya’s Rue. Earlier this year, fans began to speculate that the actress was dating her co-star Dominic Fike, which Fike eventually confirmed months later.
