London Trans+ Pride returns for 6th consecutive year with focus on Justice & Liberation

London Trans+ Pride, a grassroots trans-led community organization, is gearing up for its 6th consecutive year of advocating for trans+ rights and inclusivity. The event is set to take place this Saturday, 27th July, starting at 1pm at Langham Place. The theme for this year's march is 'Justice & Liberation', reflecting the ongoing push for equity and positive change for the trans+ community in the UK.

The march, open to trans+ people, the LGBTQ+ community, and allies, will weave through central London as a peaceful protest seeking to raise awareness and support for trans+, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and intersex lives. With the last year's march drawing an impressive 40,000 attendees, London Trans+ Pride has solidified its position as the largest trans-focused annual gathering in the UK.

Lewis G. Burton, a founding member of London Trans+ Pride, emphasized the significance of this year's theme, stating, "This year's theme is in response to the ongoing injustices and atrocities happening across the world." The march serves as a platform not only for celebrating trans+ lives but also for standing in solidarity with global struggles.

London Trans+ Pride has been proactive in its efforts to amplify trans+ voices, challenge negative media representations, and push for legislative changes to better support the trans+ community in the UK. Through workshops, community-led research projects, social media outreach, and partnerships with events like Glastonbury Festival, the organization continues its mission of promoting inclusivity, education, and advocacy.

As the momentum grows, London Trans+ Pride looks ahead to expanding its initiatives, including anti-oppression training, community infrastructure enhancements, research endeavors, and strategic collaborations to counter the increasing hostility faced by trans+ people in the UK.
