Modern Family Show Returns To The UK

The Modern Family Show kicks off its international tour with the UK on September 10 this year.

The event is designed to provide a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community seeking advice and support during their family-building journey. This year’s show will deliver educational and informal sessions on fertility, adoption, fostering, donation services, and fertility preservation guidance. Freddy McConnell and Trystan Reese, both trans parents, will also be attending and speaking at this year's show.

The successful, ground-breaking show was originally created and launched in London by Michael and Wes Johnson-Ellis. Both are from the UK and active LGBTQ+ bloggers and campaigners. They are also dads to children Talulah (aged 5) and Duke (2) born via gestational surrogacy, and know all too well how difficult it can be to navigate through all the options and pathways for LGBTQ+ people who want to start a family. Having witnessed discrimination first hand when it comes to family-building as a gay couple, Michael and Wes wanted to create a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community to come and speak to experts, professionals and like-minded people.

The first London show first took place in September last year with huge success. Michael and Wes and their team are passionate about raising awareness and driving change, which is why the show is going international. The Modern Family starts in London on September 10 this year, followed by San Francisco in October 2022, and Sydney in April 2023.

“One of the proudest moments from the 2021 show was witnessing so many people walking around holding hands, smiling and chatting to experts – all in a safe space about how they could begin or grow their family. There’s nothing like this in North America or Europe and we’re thrilled to be sharing it with our community,” stated Michael Johnson-Ellis, co-founder and co-CEO of the Modern family Show.

This year the event is supported by Pride in London, myGwork, Pink News, and Gays With Kids. Additionally, 50% of all ticket sales will go to charity partner Mermaids. Click here to find out more and register for the London event.
