The Ultimatum Star Comes Out as Bisexual During Show’s Reunion

A contestant on the first season of Netflix’s controversial reality show, The Ultimatum, just came out as bisexual during the reunion episode, according to Pride.

The show switches up couples so they can see what life in a different relationship would be like, before asking them to choose between splitting up, getting engaged, or trying out a relationship with the person they were paired up with.

The first 8 episodes of the show landed on Netflix at the same time, on April 6, while the finale and the reunion episode dropped a week later. And one of the contestants used the reunion to admit something she’d struggled with for some time.

Rae Williams ended her run on The Ultimatum by leaving the show with her trial marriage partner, Jake Cunningham, rather than the boyfriend she came to the show with, Zay Wilson. But a tryst with Jake wasn’t in the cards for her, either, and Williams spent the gap in between filming and reuniting going on a journey of self-discovery.

“I have been with one person… she’s amazing,” she said, prompting understanding smiles from many of her castmates. “And I had a really good connection with her but we kept it casual and I’m kind of figuring out myself and my sexuality, because I was very uncomfortable with being bi for a very long time,” she told hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey.

“Since Zay and I have been done I’ve just been with one girl, and it’s kind of been great, honestly.”

The Ultimatum has already been renewed for a second season on Netflix, and the upcoming run will reported feature an all queer and mostly female cast.
