Top Tips for Travelling to Southern Utah, USA

By Tyler Brklacich

“As a Utah (United States) native, I may be biased with the nostalgia of my summers spent in Southern Utah growing up, but even to this day it is one of my favorite places to visit. Southern Utah comprises five national parks, including Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches, which are distinct for the breathtaking formations of the red rock, canyons, and vast landscape. Through these parks you can experience anything from extreme sports to casual strolls through the parks, which provides an opportunity for everyone. The best things to do include:

Hiking: there is a never-ending opportunity of hiking in all of the national parks and it would take you months to be able to do them all. My most favorites include the Arches and Angels Landing.

Camping: There is nothing more beautiful than seeing the Milky Way at night while sitting around a campfire!

Visit Moab, Utah: A small recreational town that is known for its artisan beer and hamburgers.

Mountain Biking: Red Rock is perfect for the daring who would like to bike down these rock formations at speed and feel the adrenaline rush.

River Rafting: Hire a tour guide to take you down the Colorado River for a mix of relaxation and sightseeing through the natural beauty.

Take a drive through Monument Valley! Famously used in a number of ‘Western’ films, it is breathtaking in its openness and natural views that will blow you away.

Grand Canyon: You can’t be this close and not see one of the natural wonders of the world!

Horseshoe Bend: Drive to one of the most beautiful and picturesque overlooks of the Grand Canyon, and see natural beauty at its best angle.”
