WorkPride 2024 Concludes with Second Celebratory Event in Madrid

Last week, myGwork successfully concluded its fifth WorkPride 2024 conference with a second celebratory event in Spain, coinciding with Madrid Pride. This followed an earlier celebration at London’s Tower Bridge on June 23, which also commemorated myGwork’s 10th anniversary.

The closing event, held at Madrid’s Fundación Carlos de Amberes, was attended by myGwork corporate and individual members, community partners, activists, and ambassadors from countries leading in LGBTQ+ rights. Attendees included Niels Hausveit, the Norwegian ambassador to Spain, as well as representatives from the embassies of Malta and Switzerland, and organizations such as the UN.

Other prominent figures who attended the event, and shared their commitment to inclusion and human rights during the closing ceremony included Julio del Valle, Director General for Effective Equality of LGBTQ+ People of the Spanish Government; Camila Matos, a renowned advocate for diversity in Latin America; and Igor Stefanovic, Coordinator of Ethics, Culture, and CSR at the World Tourism Organization.

In their speeches, Julio del Valle and Igor Stefanovic highlighted the significance of discussing employment and rights in businesses, especially for LGBTQ+ professionals. And Camila Matos emphasized the importance of everyone doing their part, "no matter how small, to build a fairer world for all".

Concluding the event, Miguel Garzón, myGwork’s Managing Director of Iberia & LatAm, delivered a powerful speech acknowledging the vision of myGwork's co-founders Adrien and Pierre Gaubert, who have worked hard with their team over the last decade to create inclusive workplaces worldwide. "Great projects are born from simple ideas, and it's thanks to Adrien and Pierre’s vision and mission, that we are here today," shared Miguel.

WorkPride 2024 not only celebrated diversity but also paved the way for continued advocacy and inclusion in workplaces globally. myGwork would like to extend its gratitude to everyone who participated in the WorkPride Conference and attended the closing celebration in Madrid. A special thank you also to the main sponsor, Booking.com, day sponsors RS Group and NTT Data, and 40+ corporate partners that sponsored this year's webinars and panels. The collaboration of hosts and 250+ speakers provided insightful conversations that inspired meaningful change during this year's WorkPride event.
