Reinsurance Broker - Financial Lines

Marsh is seeking candidates in the Financial Lines insurance industry to join our Facultative Reinsurance Team in Milan.

As a Reinsurance Broker, you will play a crucial role in facilitating reinsurance transactions between insurance companies and reinsurers. Your expertise in the Financial Lines sector will be essential in analyzing risks, negotiating terms, and securing optimal reinsurance coverage for our clients. We will count on you to:

  • Identify and target business opportunity within the FINPRO LoB marketspace;

  • Structure and place reinsurance protections related to FINPRO lines of business, negotiating terms at international level;

  • Contribute to build reinsurance/insurance solutions to meet Client needs;

  • Assess and analyze risks associated with Financial Lines insurance policies, including professional liability, directors and officers liability, and cyber liability.

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of the Financial Lines reinsurance market, including evaluating capacity, pricing, and underwriting guidelines in order to approach the international market properly;

  • Identify potential reinsurers and negotiate terms and conditions to secure optimal reinsurance coverage for clients;

  • Prepare and present submissions to reinsurers, highlighting the unique aspects of the risk and advocating for favorable terms;

  • Coordinate contract negotiations and amendments with reinsurers and clients, addressing any discrepancies or concerns;

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in the Financial Lines reinsurance sector.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s/Master's Degree;

  • +3 years’ experience in the insurance industry (Insurance Companies, MGAs, Brokers), especially in market facing roles at international level;

  • In-depth knowledge and/or previous exposure with one or more Financial Lines products insurance products (D&O, Cyber, PI, BBB etc.);

  • Commercial and relationship skills (with Italian and International Counterparties);

  • Problem solving and analysis skills;

  • Ability to negotiate at international level;

  • Excellent knowledge of the Italian and English languages. Third foreign language would be considered as a plus.
