Cat models play an integral role in the reinsurance industry. These days cat models are implemented on cloud-based architectures like Oasis LMF and have powerful features that need to be looked after. The role will focus on enhancing model development and deployment workflows as well as user experience, leveraging for new technologies, analyzing model performance and defining functionality enhancements.

JUNIOR CATASTROPHE MODEL PLATFORM COORDINATOR 

What can you expect?  

Guy Carpenter is hiring a junior catastrophe model platform coordinator to consolidate existing and implement new platform features. The colleague will drive the development of next generation Oasis models at Guy Carpenter and help integrating them within the cat modelling platforms, MMC data lake and reporting tools worldwide.  

The role provides insights into catastrophe model development in a global team of natural scientists, model developers and cat modelers. • Provide general user support for internal catastrophe models
• Host training programs for our users worldwide
• Monitor model performance and improve the monitoring process
• Implement new functionalities into cat models
• Manage efficient model and platform release cycles
• Develop scalable solutions for programmatic testing and model releases
• Support task automation

What you need to have: 

• University degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, natural science or equivalent 
• Interest in and like to learn programming in Python and R 
• Interest in data science and data processing 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
• Experience in Microsoft technology (Windows, Office 365, etc.) 
• Interested to work in international team  
• Fluent English verbal and written 
• Ability to translate technical problems to non-technical audience 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills 

 What makes you stand out?

• Knowledge of Linux systems 
• Experience with Oasis LMF or cat model development 
• Experience in cat modelling
