The Bowring Marsh division of Marsh is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Norwich office:

Junior Insurance Broker (International Casualty)

The role would suit individuals from customer services backgrounds who ideally have a knowledge and understanding of the insurance market, and an understanding of broking.

  • The successful candidate will provide support to Bowring Marsh Norwich and London based colleagues in servicing a large multi-national portfolio of business.
  • With 10 offices in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Continental Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, United States and Bermuda, our Bowing Marsh teams cover a range of Insurance products across the following areas: Property, Casualty, Terrorism, North American Property, Life Sciences and Mining.

We will count on you to:

  • Distribute underwriting submissions to Insurers/Reinsurers and follow up for quotes
  • Make sure all binders have been signed, sent to retail/producing offices and fronting company prior to coverage taking effect
  • Finalise subjectivities from retail/producing offices and distributing the information to respective Insurers/Reinsurers
  • Request / provide Reinsurance Certificates from retail/producing offices to provide to Insurers/Reinsurers
  • Request final policy form from retail/producing offices, checking form for outstanding subjectivities, sending it to Insurers/Reinsurers and following up to ensure that it is finalized
  • Execute standard endorsement requests from retail/producing offices to Insurers/Reinsurers
  • Put together placement and claims information for submission to London back-office
  • Handle matters regarding premium billing and reconciliation for the Client and Insurers/Reinsurers
  • Handle basic communications with retail/producing offices and with underwriters
  • Effective control and management of internal targets in respect of Workflow/Contract Certainty/Premium Warranties/Payments/MRCE Workflow/Late Signings
  • Monitoring and tracking of MRCE documents
  • Broking of MRCEs/alterations identified within the de-broke/tidy process

What you need to have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ideally with experience of dealing with internal and external clients
  • An interest in improving service and performance
  • The ability to understand the needs and objectives of internal and external clients and execute accordingly
  • The flexibility to adapt different approaches or styles to situations
  • Ability to plan prioritise and complete work within strict timeframes
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to cope with cyclical nature of the business
