Role Overview:

We are looking for a Data Engineer (m/f/d) to join the Data and AI Transformation Engineering team to design, build, and scale modern data platforms and data products that support Allianz's transformation objectives. The role requires strong expertise in cloud‑based data platforms on Azure, with the ability to prototype quickly and deliver scalable, reliable data solutions.

 

What you do:

  • Participate in the design and implementation of data applications, from proof of concept (PoC) through to fully production‑ready solutions.
  • Build and maintain scalable, reliable data infrastructure and data products that deliver value to business customers.
  • Design and operate containerized solutions to enable portability, scalability, and efficient deployment.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Data Scientists, and stakeholders to respond quickly to evolving business needs.
    Contribute to continuous improvement of data platforms, engineering practices, and solution architecture.

 

What you bring:

  • University degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience implementing data solutions on Azure, ideally using Azure Synapse Analytics, AI Foundry, or similar Azure data services with strong understanding of ETL /ELT processes with hands‑on experience working with relational databases.
  • Solid technical expertise in: Containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), Databases and SQL, Python for scripting, data processing and automation, GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
  • Good knowledge of data architecture concepts such as data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses and data catalogs.
  • Strong interest and working knowledge of GenAI, data modeling, and Data Science, with experience (or motivation) in productionalizing data and AI solutions.
  • Experience building data visualizations and dashboards, preferably using Power BI.
  • Good level of English (required) with other languages (e.g. Spanish or additional European languages) being a plus.
  • We highly welcome candidates with a genuine interest and affinity for Information Technology (IT) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), as these attributes are considered valuable assets to our team.
