IT Service Engineer

About the Job

You will be part of a global team providing Kubernetes Cluster as a Service to Allianz Technology internal customers worldwide. The team delivers a secure, reliable, and scalable platform with regular incremental enhancements, ensuring a high-quality service experience across regions.

All platform-related aspects-including availability, disaster recovery, vulnerability management, architecture and documentation, service provisioning, and incident handling-are fully owned by the team, enabling continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 

As a Kubernetes Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and operating Kubernetes clusters and their automation. You will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration, scalability, and reliability of services, contributing to Allianz Technology's global digital platforms.

 

What you do

• Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure and platform deployments
• Partner with development teams and internal customers to ensure applications are scalable and resilient
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting for Kubernetes platforms and workloads
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform and infrastructure issues efficiently
• Optimize resource utilization to ensure high availability and cost efficiency
• Continuously improve platform security, reliability, and documentation
• Support and mentor junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing within the team

 

What you bring

• Several years of hands-on experience managing Kubernetes in production environments
• Strong experience working with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
• Solid background in DevOps and infrastructure engineering
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go
• Deep understanding of containerization and Kubernetes ecosystem
• Strong knowledge of networking, security, and storage concepts in Kubernetes environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a global, collaborative setup
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to diverse audiences
