Senior Investment Strategist Private Markets (m/f/d)

Job purpose/role

 

The investment strategy team is, together with Allianz' local managers across the globe, responsible for designing and implementing the investment strategy in insurance portfolios. As such, we partner with our colleagues within the global AIM network and our internal and external asset managers in developing our investment strategy and adapting it to the needs of the portfolios.

Being part of the team, you will help achieve superior investment results for our clients. Your focus area will be in shaping the investment strategy for Private Markets which include Private Equity (focus asset class), Private Debt, Infrastructure and Real Estate. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an international investment team managing a global portfolio with plenty of opportunities to learn and develop.

 

Key responsibilities

 

• Conduct in-depth analyses of private markets to identify relevant investment opportunities (esp. for Private Equity).
• Develop comprehensive asset class perspectives, including return and risk premium assessments, through independent analysis and collaboration with other investment teams to ensure consistency.
• Assess asset class implications according to Allianz's economic outlook and scenario planning.
• Build a knowledge platform for private markets, integrating data, models, news, asset manager relationships, and internal Allianz expertise.
• Prepare and deliver regular investment insights and recommendations to committees and internal/ external partners.
• Collaborate with Allianz investing entities and group stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making regarding private markets.

 

Key requirements/skills/ experience

 

• 5+ years of investment experience, across asset classes or within private markets (esp. Private Equity).
• Strong analytical skills and toolkit (MS Office, especially excellent Excel knowledge, Bloomberg, LSEG Datastream, Python, PowerBi, AI tools...).
• Ability to work independently, yet also collaborate effectively to achieve common goals.
• Fast learner, combining advanced analytical skills supported by curiosity and a critical mind.
