DESCRIPTION:
Amazon's Finance Operations organization is seeking a highly motivated Cash Application Analyst to support the China AWS line of business. This position is integral to the accurate and timely posting of customer payments against corresponding receivable invoices. The role encompasses end-to-end cash application processing, payment reconciliation, and the reduction of unapplied and unidentified cash receipts. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless processing of daily payment inflows, conduct detailed data analysis and reconciliation across high-volume transaction sets, and proactively drive initiatives to reduce unapplied/unidentified cash balances. This role is also responsible for delivering clear, actionable reporting to management and will serve as a key contributor to the month-end close process, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all cash-related activities.
Key job responsibilities
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the end-to-end Accounts Receivable process and its inter-dependencies with upstream and downstream functions.
- Process receipts and credit memos accurately and within established SLAs to ensure the integrity of accounts receivable balances.
- Investigate and reconcile payment discrepancies, and systematically track and resolve unidentified and unapplied receipts to minimize aged balances.
- Leverage data analysis and statistical techniques to identify root causes of recurring issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute periodic reports to relevant stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all deliverables.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and collaborate with AI-powered tools to deliver scalable improvements that reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and commerce (B. Com)
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Possess ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate excellent team player qualities with good interpersonal skills
- Ability to compile, analyze, and present financial and operational reports with a high degree of precision, delivering timely and actionable insights to stakeholders
