Business Intel Engineer, MX CARPOOL

DESCRIPTION:

Are you passionate about turning complex data into products that drive business decisions? The MX Carpool team is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer who will own the design, development, and delivery of finance data products that empower our internal customers across Amazon Mexico.

In this role, you will combine deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to build scalable data solutions on AWS. You will partner closely with finance and IES stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver self-service analytics capabilities that accelerate decision-making. Key job responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain finance data products and pipelines that serve internal customers across multiple business functions
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, ETL processes, and data models to support reporting and analytics at scale
- Leverage AWS data services (Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena, QuickSight) to architect reliable, performant data solutions
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and self-service BI tools that enable stakeholders to make data-driven decisions independently
- Partner with finance, and IES teams to translate requirements into scalable data products
- Define and track key metrics, identify trends, and proactively surface insights that influence business strategy
- Manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders while maintaining high delivery standards
- Document data products, pipelines, and methodologies to ensure knowledge sharing and operational excellence
- Continuously improve existing data infrastructure, automating manual processes and reducing time-to-insight

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- 2+ years of Tableau Desktop, Quicksight or other relevant data visualization software experience
- Bachelor's degree or above in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time Exempt experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience using SQL (Structured Query Language) to pull data from a database or data warehouse
- Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Master's degree or above in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
