Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced ground breaking devices like Kindle, Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo, etc.
The Role:
As a Hardware Development manager, you will manage team of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast paced start-up like environment. In your manager role, you and your team will be the owner of all aspects of hardware design, including circuit/board design, hardware validation, mechanical design and cost-effective work related to hardware design. To be successful, you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing highest standards of responsibilities. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to identify opportunities to drive efficiencies for the team's deliverables.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, providing them technical guidance and mentorship while fostering a supportive and high-performing team culture.
- Drive organizational alignment for the team to ensure you can broaden the teams impact while mitigating risks.
- Drive team to deep dive complex issue analysis
- Lead team to carry out hardware design changes to improve quality.
- Lead team to identify opportunities and mechanisms to improve the team influence and business impact, such as cost-effective opportunities, cost avoidance
- Work with vendors and CMs to ensure engagement models and associated requirements are streamlined
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of new hardware products development experience
- 3+ years of Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team directly responsible for hardware design.
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
