Multi Site Env. Technician, Environmental Assurance & Protection (EAP)

DESCRIPTION:

Our team is seeking a Multi-Site Environmental Technician (MSET) responsible for supporting environmental compliance across multiple Amazon facilities in Turkey. The MSET will complete environmental inspections, performance analyses, compliance monitoring activities, and facilitate site-level implementation of Amazon's global environmental standards and programs across Fulfillment Centers, Sorting Centers, and Logistics sites.

This is an onsite/in-person role based in Istanbul Amazon fulfilment center.

Key job responsibilities
Site execution of environmental procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, regional, and local regulations;

Manage and execute site responsibilities to comply with air emissions, surface water, wastewater, waste and other environmental related laws, regulations and permits;
Manage and prepare site-specific environmental reporting to regulators and within Amazon;
Manage and execute waste activities, classification, reporting and permitting requirements;
Execute waste and surface water site inspections;
Monitor and provide guidance on site performance against applicable environmental regulations, programs and Amazon global standards;
Analyze environmental metrics and review weekly and monthly trends to determine where improvements are needed;
Execute site-specific tasks associated with the implementation of Environmental Program Assessment;
Support in measuring and analyzing site's performance against requirements in environmental procedures and identify a plan for the site to remedy all deficiencies;
Execute relevant environmental procedures as dictated by business and regulatory needs;
Support in evaluating and developing process improvements for identified risks;
Aid in facilitating root cause analyses for all environmental incidents and recommend appropriate corrective actions for network implementation;
Identify and implement corrective actions to eliminate any observed or at-risk non-compliance scenarios.

A day in the life
The Multi-Site Environmental Technician will assist in the implementation and enforcement of environmental standards and policies across Turkish operations, providing support and technical guidance to operations, facilities, construction, and Workplace Health & Safety teams. The role involves regular site visits, compliance monitoring through the AUSTIN platform, and driving continuous improvement across assigned sites.

About the team
The Environmental Assurance and Protection Field Operations team protects Amazon businesses and supports the needs of our customers by proactively mitigating environmental regulatory risks and protecting the environment across one of the region's most dynamic and expanding markets.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or Chemical Engineering;
- Experience serving as an environmental technical resource or environmental specialist;
- Knowledge of Turkish national and local environmental regulations;
- Experience engaging with regulatory agencies;
- Availability to work in-person all work days with ability to travel across Turkish operations;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Turkish.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Broad knowledge of Turkish national and local environmental regulations;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including pivot tables and chart development;
- Experience profiling and managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste;
- Experience in warehouse operations and logistics;
- Experience conducting environmental inspections and supporting audit activities.
