DESCRIPTION:

Amazon Devices is looking for a Principal Product Manager - Technical to lead one of our highest-priority growth areas. You would be a key leader on the our Devices Advertising and Merchandising Technology team. Our vision is to create a best-in-class experience that allows customers worldwide to easily discover, understand, purchase, and engage with Amazon Devices and complementary products that meet their individual needs and enhance their lives. The products we work with include Echo, Kindle, Smart Home products, new-to-the-world devices, and more. Our team charter spans business, product, and tech, involves collaboration with partners from devices, retail, and digital teams, and focuses on driving discovery and sales of Amazon Devices and complementary products through online and offline channels.

This Principal PM-T will define the product roadmap, collaborate with a dedicated tech team, and work cross functionally with business teams and partners on emerging technological capabilities.

A successful candidate will be highly analytical, able to work effectively in a matrixed organization, and adept at working with engineering teams at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into products and applications that customers love.

Key job responsibilities
-Define a world-class online customer experience for Amazon devices and all the complements that drive a magically connected experience; write working backwards docs to succinctly capture the envisioned customer benefit and functional requirements. Lead discussion and thinking with the highest-level stakeholders to push into testing new ideas. Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time.

-Dive deep on emerging technologies, becoming the subject matter expert on relevant capabilities and application to Devices use cases.

-Provide thought leadership across engineering, UX design, marketing, data science, legal, and finance teams.

-Lead cross-functional teams through complex decisions where data is limited.

-Pilot experiences; collect and report on data; iterate on the path towards full scale roll-out. Globalize proven features.

-Role is global in nature and will work with teams in other markets.

-Influence senior leaders across matrixed organizations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience technical product management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
