DESCRIPTION:
Advertising is one of the fastest growing businesses at Amazon and that growth generates challenges in managing huge volumes of advertising submissions while maintaining a high customer experience and working at the speed that advertisers demand. We believe that advertising, done well, can enhance the value of our customer experience and generate a positive ROI for our advertising partners.
As part of Advertising Trust's Policy & Integrity team, you will have high visibility across Amazon business lines, establishing the right customer experience and long-term strategy for the success of Amazon Advertising. We are a global and diverse team with a long tenure in online advertising, expertise in developing customer experience solutions for highly complex situations, risk mitigation, and brand integrity. We are looking for deep thinkers, innovators, and individuals who are customer obsessed.
Key job responsibilities
• Serve as the dedicated single-thread policy partner for regional sales teams, translating policy requirements into actionable sales guidance so sellers can confidently position Amazon Ads without needing to interpret policy frameworks themselves.
• Gather and synthesize voice-of-customer feedback and cultural/regional market intelligence from sales engagements to inform policy development and recalibration.
• Clearly communicate risks, including through high-quality written presentations, and rationale behind policies to internal stakeholder teams to support understanding and consensus of policy positions.
• Work with product teams by creating business requirement documents to ensure policy compliance for developing ad products.
• Build collaborative relationships across other policy teams within the Ad Trust Policy team, across Ads Trust, the Sales organization, Legal, PR, Public Policy and other business units outside of Ads as necessary to support policy management.
•Support high-risk and high-impact escalations in partnership with moderation and tiered support teams.
•Apply knowledge of ad tech systems and Amazon's advertising infrastructure to inform policy decisions and guidance.
A day in the life
In a typical day, the regional policy manager will operate as the single-threaded owner and bridge between the policy team and their region's sales organization. They will partner with sales on meetings to provide real-time policy guidance to an advertiser, brief a seller ahead of a pitch in a newly opened ad category, or advise on how to position a deal within existing policy frameworks. For strategic policy change requests, sales teams come directly to this role for guidance and alignment. They will synthesize voice-of-customer feedback from these engagements and route it back to policy teams to inform recalibration or simplification. They will partner with policy authors to pressure-test whether a proposed framework accounts for regional and cultural nuance. They will lead training sessions both virtual and in-person to equip sales teams on updated policy frameworks, and ensure published policies reflect the latest guidance. Throughout the day, they balance proactive enablement with strategic advisory work: building the materials, relationships, and feedback loops that help sales teams move faster without creating policy risk.
