DESCRIPTION:

AWS is seeking an experienced Senior Capital Markets Specialist to join the Worldwide Financial Services Industry (FSI) Business Unit. In this role, you will guide EMEA's leading exchanges, trading platforms, broker/dealers, asset managers, hedge funds, and wealth managers in accelerating their adoption of AI and Cloud technologies.
This role is ideally suited to someone with front office experience in buy-side or sell-side financial institutions who believes that AI and Cloud will be the primary drivers of growth and transformation across financial services.


Key job responsibilities
•Drive Capital Markets adoption of AWS AI and Cloud technologies across a defined set of strategic accounts
•Apply deep industry expertise to accelerate customer AI and Cloud journeys - delivering market insight, tailored presentations, and actionable recommendations
•Partner with the Sales team to identify and shape opportunities, then actively support progression through the sales cycle
•Engage business and technology stakeholders at all levels, including Heads of Trading, Heads of Risk, Chief Investment Officers, Heads of Investment Technology, and Chief Operating Officers
•Build long-term, trusted advisor relationships with customers, positioning AWS as a strategic partner for their business transformation
•Proactively identify and apply emerging AWS and partner technologies to Capital Markets use cases, translating innovation into customer-relevant solutions
•Collaborate with AWS industry and specialist teams to scale successful initiatives and triage those that require redirection


A day in the life
The role balances business development with deep domain expertise, ensuring financial institutions innovate while meeting strict security and compliance standards.
Supporting local sales leadership, and FS Global Segment leads in the development of industry narratives and sales accelerators.
Leading executive briefings to align AWS solutions with a customer's business goal.
Collaborating with the broader AWS organisation, but specifically with Solution Architects to build "compliant-by-design" architectures and coaching sales teams on industry-specific pain points.


About the team
The AWS EMEA Financial Services Industry (FSI) team supports AWS's largest industry segment in EMEA. We are a diverse team operating across the EMEA region. The team spans banking, insurance, capital markets, and payments across nine EMEA geographies, with a strong focus on security, compliance, and innovation. It comprises industry specialists who drive customer engagement, cloud adoption, and go-to-market strategies. Priority areas include Generative AI, operational resilience (DORA), cloud migration, customer experience transformation, and real-time analytics - helping financial institutions modernize and innovate on AWS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience solving problems with technology in the Global Financial Services Industry
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience working with Core Cloud Technology Services, including, but not limited to Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, and/or Networking
- Experience in Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience explaining complex technical concepts to various business and technical audiences
- Experience working with Advanced Compute technologies including, but not limited to: Accelerated Compute, High Performance Compute, Visual/Spatial Compute, and/or IoT.
