DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join Amazon Latin America Payments Team to lead our partnership initiatives. This is a crucial role for improving the payment experience for Amazon customers shopping on Latin America through strategic partnerships with schemes, acquirers and financial institutions. You will develop and execute partnership strategies with banks, financial institutions, payment networks, and service providers to enhance Amazon Latin America countries payment offerings. Your expertise in credit card programs will be instrumental in connecting with Acquirers, Issuers and Local Banks to address opportunities that increase customer access through best-in-class performance and approval rates.

Key job responsibilities
* Secure, sign-up, and manage working relationships with payment partners such as acquirers, issuers, networks (Visa, MasterCard, Amex), and Third Party Providers to enhance payment offerings across Latin America.
* Negotiate and finalize business contracts with banking partners, ensuring optimal experience for Amazon Latin America customers while maintaining high standards of service quality.
* Monitor and analyze partnership performance metrics, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement that balance protection efficacy with regional business impact.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Tech, Legal, Finance) to align partnership goals with overall business objectives and drive improvements based on data and metrics.
* Develop and maintain communication strategies for partners while staying informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in the payments space.

A day in the life
Your day involves managing relationships with key payment partners like Visa, MasterCard, and local financial institutions. You'll drive Service Level Agreements through partners to maintain high quality service standards and customer satisfaction. You'll analyze performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities, collaborate with cross-functional teams to align partnership goals with business objectives, and represent Amazon at industry events to strengthen stakeholder relationships. You'll balance strategic planning with operational execution, ensuring payment systems remain reliable and optimized for Latin American customers.

About the team
The Latin American Payment Business Operations team oversees payment programs across LATAM markets. We serve proprietary stores in Brazil and Mexico, enable cross-border transactions for LATAM countries, and support Digital Businesses operations. We manage numerous partners and country-specific payment methods through local partnerships, building roadmaps that drive customer experience improvements by tracking partner performance, contract adherence, and system availability. Working with local Product teams, we enhance customer experiences aligned with regional strategies. We are responsible for implementing payment strategies across Brazil and Mexico Stores, Digital Businesses, new business lines, and additional local payment methods through our Integration and Launches framework.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing
