Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Offers Platform, Catalo...

Canada , Vancouver
Salary: $150,700 – $251,700 Annually

DESCRIPTION:

Amazon Selection and Catalog Systems (ASCS) builds and operates the systems behind the world's largest e-commerce product catalog, enabling customers to find, discover, and buy anything they want. The Catalog Vending team within ASCS owns the foundational building blocks for all catalog content across Amazon - the interfaces that project product information, availability, and pricing to every Amazon shopping surface.

Our systems operate at trillions of requests per day at single-digit millisecond latency (P99), serving as the foundational data layer for Amazon's detail pages, search, checkout, and emerging agentic shopping experiences. We own the Tier-1 interfaces that power every product page on Amazon, along with precompute interfaces that serve hundreds of backend consumers across multiple catalog datasets.

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to define the technical vision and roadmap for Catalog Vending and lead the architecture for Amazon's next-generation catalog capabilities. You will:

- Define the Catalog Vending technical vision - architect how Amazon's catalog evolves to support different shopping experiences across multiple store formats and customer segments
- Lead next-generation catalog architecture - design systems that enable granular experience-specific product discovery at Amazon scale - without duplicating data or maintaining parallel systems
- Define core catalog capabilities for agentic commerce - architect the foundational catalog building blocks that enable rapidly changing agentic shopping requirements

You will architect solutions that:
- Dynamically adapt product data based on customer experiences
- Enable store-specific product requirements and compliance across marketplaces
- Meet different business requirements across different shopping experiences
- Support rapid launch of new store experiences with minimal operational overhead

This role requires deep distributed systems expertise, strong API design skills, and the ability to drive technical alignment across multiple VP-level organizations. There are no textbook solutions at our scale - you will define the bleeding edge for elegant, super-scalable catalog services.

What makes this role unique: You won't just build features on existing systems - you'll define the architectural paradigm for how Amazon's catalog supports the next decade of shopping experiences, from agentic AI to hyper-local commerce to contextual personalization.
