Join Amazon Lab126's FireTV voice team and shape the future of how millions of people interact with their entertainment. You'll design and build innovative voice features that solve real problems for consumers, working on mission-critical software that directly impacts the user experience across our FireTV ecosystem.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core features for FireTV's voice experience, ensuring high quality and reliability across millions of devices
- Collaborate with team members to investigate technical approaches, prototype new capabilities, and assess feasibility of innovative solutions
- Contribute to the architecture and design of new systems and improvements to existing infrastructure
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to maintain software quality standards
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and iterate on solutions based on user feedback
A day in the life
As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the FireTV voice team, you'll focus on developing and enhancing voice interaction features that bring Alexa to life on FireTV devices. Your day might include collaborating with cross-functional partners to evaluate new technical approaches, prototyping solutions to complex voice experience challenges, and contributing to the architecture of systems that serve millions of users. You'll participate in design reviews, write and review code with your teammates, and help troubleshoot issues that arise in production environments. Beyond your core development work, you'll mentor junior engineers, share your technical insights during team discussions, and contribute to our continuous improvement processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 4+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceThe base salary range for this position is listed below.
