PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are seeking a Service Delivery and Development Manager to join our Payroll team on a FTC basis. The role is based in Cardiff and with some flexibility, i.e. hybrid working. The BBC Payroll service delivery team, work with our third-party providers to ensure accurate payments to BBC individuals, and that payments are made on time.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
• Business-as-usual (BAU) payroll activities, including reviewing reports, resolution of escalated queries and payroll sign-off.
• Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other areas of the business to address issues, manage risks, and handle escalations, while identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance the efficiency and quality of service delivered to our colleagues.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to compliance standards and UK legislative updates.
• Review payroll overpayments, working closely with internal teams (e.g. HR, Finance, and outsourced providers) to identify root causes and driving continuous process improvements.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Proven experience working within a payroll team, with a strong understanding of UK payroll legislation
• Proven ability to challenge existing processes constructively and drive improvements that enhance accuracy and reduce recurrence of issues. • Demonstrated experience in customer support, including handling and resolving queries effectively.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly when engaging with third-party stakeholders.
