Role Description:
At Booking.com, our Partnerships team builds strategic relationships with global brands that help drive growth at scale. By combining technology, data, and commercial collaboration, we create seamless partner experiences- from API integrations to co-branded opportunities- that reach new customers, grow revenue, and strengthen our position as a global leader in travel.
We're looking for an API Specialist to help support and improve the performance of our API ecosystem. In this role, you'll work closely with Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to analyze API performance, support partner integrations, and turn data into actionable improvements that enhance partner experience and business outcomes.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and getting to the root cause of issues- and who is excited to learn how APIs and large-scale platforms work in a real-world environment.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitor and analyze API performance metrics for assigned partners
Identify patterns, issues, and opportunities to improve partner performance
Support the development and improvement of dashboards and monitoring tools such as Grafana and OpenSearch
Support API partners and internal teams with technical questions and troubleshooting
Help onboard new partners and guide them through integration processes
Investigate issues and contribute to scalable, structured solutions
Join commercial partner reviews to identify technical improvement opportunities and agree follow-up actions
Translate recurring partner and internal feedback into clear, actionable insights
Support Product teams with data-driven input to improve API features and functionality
Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Commercial stakeholders to resolve issues and improve performance
Improve API documentation, internal knowledge resources, workflows, and support processes
Explore opportunities to increase efficiency through automation, tooling, and emerging technologies such as AI
Contribute to reusable templates, playbooks, and best practices
Qualifications & Skills:
Education Level: Bachelor Degree
Basic experience working with APIs
1-3 years of experience in a relevant field such as operations, support, analytics, or another technical or problem-solving role
Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity to get to the root cause of issues
High attention to detail and a structured way of working
Confidence working with data and identifying patterns or inconsistencies
Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn, improve, and make an impact
Strong interest in learning how systems integrate, product and performance optimization
Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools
Exposure to dashboards or monitoring tools such as Grafana, OpenSearch, or similar
Understanding of JSON or XML
Experience working with partners or cross-functional stakeholders
Experience improving processes, documentation, or workflows
