CPS (Commercial Products Supply) is a key part of the Advantaged Supply Chain of the Technical Function of The Coca-Cola Company.  CPS manufactures concentrates and beverage bases for sale to bottling partners all over the world.  This global organization manages a network of 20 manufacturing plants in 18 different countries along with 2 office locations (Atlanta & Drogheda, Ireland).  CPS also manages complex additional materials supply chains (e.g. juice, coffee, tea, milk, etc.) on behalf of bottling partners

The CPS Plant site Director will be a key member of CPS India Leadership team. This role provides leadership and strategic direction for one of the manufacturing sites in India, in all areas of Plant Management, Production, Engineering, Warehousing, Operational Excellence, HR. Collaborates with other leaders in Planning, QSE, Finance and customer management that are central for CPS India Operations. Ensures continuity of supply to all markets/bottlers the CPS plant supplies to.

The site director will be responsible for ensuring that the Plant always have necessary resources under an approved annual business plan while ensuring its timely execution, implementation of key programs, compliance with all KO Standards and local regulations, and collaborative work with key stakeholders with a very customer focused mind-set while enhancing engagement of all Associates.

The CPS Site Director will:

  • Play a key role as a leader of the Local Leadership Team implementing the long-term strategy, vision and mission for CPS. This role will have a key impact on bringing CPS India Vision to life that is to make CPS plants Touchless factories ready for future with a High Performance Culture that delivers top quartile Industry benchmark performance on Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Plant across all areas of Plant Management, including Production, Engineering, Warehousing, Operational Excellence, HR. Collaborates with other leaders in Planning, QSE, Finance and customer management that are central for CPS India Operations. Collaborate with global functions such as CPS Supply Chain Shared Service teams.
  • A key part of this will be to increase flexibility (in line with the changing portfolio of TCCC) and productivity for now and for the future.
  • Act as the site leader with local legal entity responsibility, including local regulatory, authority relationship and management
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the Plant achieves its annual business plan, implementation of key programs, compliance with all KO Standards and local regulations.  This will require extensive use of standardized procedures, processes, technologies and equipment and will require close collaboration with other members of the Local LT implementing agreed strategies in the Plant
  • As a member of the CPS india leadership team, ensure alignment and standardization across all CPS sites of India on a number of strategic matters
  • Lead and manage a team of direct reports while also providing inspirational leadership to a large number of indirect reports to maintain and further enhance employee engagement.  Will ensure that the right level of capability is developed and maintained within the Plant for now and for the future.  Will also identify, develop and grow the next generation of Local leaders through active performance management, coaching, feedback and the People Development Forum (PDF) process

Volume (unit case / gallons) :Around 5.0 MM std units (Capacity is 10MM SU in 2 shift)

# Brands/Products : 100 - 150 KITs different brands supplied by CPS

# Product Launches Annually : 30 - 40 SKU's (BB)

# Suppliers Managed : 150-200 ingredient and primary packaging suppliers are managed under the Supply Quality program with accountability for Supplier Authorization

# Bottlers Managed : Accountability for quality of all beverage bases and concentrates supplied from CPS to 50-60 bottling facilities

Operating Income :  $5 - $7 mm (Operating Income of CPS India) 

Operating Budget ($) : $20 - 30MM Opex for 2020

# of Direct Reports (Company Employee): 5 - 7

# of Indirect Reports (Company Employee): 85 - 125

# Non Company Employees Reports: 55 - 70

Required Qualification:

Type of prev. work experience required : Technical and operational leadership roles in manufacturing operations in a food, pharmaceutical or FMCG industry

Number of previous work experience are required : >15 years

Indicate the minimum education level required to perform this job : University/Bachelor's Degree

Functional Competencies Required:

  • Track record of executing business results including people and change management in a supply chain environment
  • Previous experience in multiple functions (including operations) within CPS or equivalent organization
  • Business acumen, understanding of The Coca-Cola System and P&L management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Local strategy development
  • Executing in a complex portfolio / matrixed business
  • Excellent English & local language spoken and written skills

Functional Competencies Preferred:

  • Business Unit and/or Bottler experience
  • Technical qualifications in engineering, supply chain or quality
  • International experience

Cultural Diversity:

  • The incumbent in this role needs excellent interpersonal skills and very well developed cultural awareness skills, given that the role will work closely with people in the Plant, supporting the corresponding Operating Unit and working with multiple stakeholders within the local KO System.  Fluent written and spoken English & local language as well as strong communication skills are a definite requirement.  Additional languages are desirable.

Travel Requirements: The position will be primarily based at the Plant, with occasional business trips up to 5% - 15% of work time under normal conditions. Trips include occasional visits to other Concentrate Plants, Bottling Operations or Company offices.
