Job Summary:
The Technical Content Consultant - Content Operations is a highly technical, fast-paced role responsible for managing LMSintegrations, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and ensuring seamlesscontent delivery across platforms.
This role sits within the Content Operations function,acting as the technical backbone for content delivery and a bridge betweenContent Providers, Partnerships, Engineering, Product, and customer-facingteams.
The role requires deep expertise in LMS integrations, APIs,authentication mechanisms, debugging techniques, and end-to-end contentlifecycle management. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solvingskills, the ability to navigate ambiguity across systems, and exceptionalcommunication skills to engage with both technical and non-technicalstakeholders.
In this role, you will
The Technical Content Consultant - Content Operations will be the primary point of contact for critical cross-functional workstreams,including but not limited to:
Partner Onboarding & Integrations
Collaborate with global content providers and partners to onboard them into the LMS ecosystem (both one-to-many subscriptions and one-to-one integrations)
Conduct technical discovery, feasibility assessments, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) where required
Read and interpret technical onboarding documentation, API specifications, and integration requirements
Guide partners in setting up endpoints, authentication flows, and launch configurations
Configure and validate end-to-end integration flows including launch behavior, tracking, and reporting
Provide ongoing support to partners while working with APIs and internal tools
Content Subscription & Management
Manage additions/removals in Content Subscriptions and support monthly catalog refresh cycles
Ensure content delivered via APIs or connectors is correctly ingested, processed, and available in client portals
Perform catalog validation checks (missing courses, broken launches, metadata inconsistencies)
Work with multiple LMS platforms, including Cornerstone LMS, Saba, EdCast, and SumTotal
Support large-scale catalog operations and ensure overall catalog health and readiness
Technical Debugging & Troubleshooting
Debug LMS integrations using browser developer tools, networklogs, HAR files, and tracing tools. Analyze and troubleshoot across standardsincluding:
AICC (GetParam, PutParam)
SCORM (LMSSetValue, LMSGetValue)
xAPI (Actor, Verb, Statement)
LTI (authentication flows, JWT tokens)
Investigate issues across the full ecosystem (LMS, APIs, provider systems, and user flows) to identify true root cause
Work with APIs for testing, validation, and issue resolution
Perform SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting where required
Identify recurring issues and propose scalable fixes or enhancements
Reporting, Metrics & Process Optimization
Track and analyze key metrics related to content integrations, onboarding, and support trends
Contribute to process improvements to reduce manual effort and improve scalability
Create and maintain documentation, workflows, and operational playbooks
Identify patterns across issues and provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering teams
Incident Management & Support
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for escalated content-related issues
Troubleshoot issues such as broken launches, tracking discrepancies, bookmarking issues, and content playback defects
Work with internal teams and external providers to drive resolution of complex incidents
Monitor and manage incidents using tools like ServiceNow and JIRA, ensuring SLA adherence
Handle dependencies across multiple systems and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Partnerships, Engineering, Product, Curation, and Support
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Conduct meetings, document outcomes, and follow up on action items
Collaborate with global teams across time zones as required
You've got what it takes if you have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in LMS integrations, technical consulting, or similar roles
Strong understanding of LMS standards such as SCORM, AICC, xAPI, and LTI
Experience with APIs (REST), including testing and debugging using tools like Postman
Knowledge of authentication mechanisms such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect
Strong debugging and analytical skills across web technologies (HTTP, cookies, sessions, redirects)
Experience with SQL for basic querying and data validation
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, ServiceNow, and other ticketing systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills for global collaboration
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with LMS platforms such as Cornerstone OnDemand, Saba, EdCast, or SumTotal
Experience in e-learning content ecosystems and content lifecycle management
Familiarity with cloud-based environments and distributed systems
Prior experience in high-volume, integration-heavy or technical support environments
