The Advanced Technician Instrumentation is responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting critical plant-wide instrumentation and control systems to ensure uninterrupted operations and compliance with stringent quality and safety standards, directly contributing to the accuracy and reliability of manufacturing data, product quality, and the overall operational efficiency of the site.
This position reports to the Facilities Supervisor and is part of the Facilities Team located in O’Callaghan Mills, Co. Clare and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Beckman Coulter instrumentation and calibration, responsible for installing new equipment, maintaining the calibration system for all plant equipment, and ensuring the ISO7/ISO8 cleanrooms and their HVAC systems remain compliant with ISO 14644.
Maintain various Facilities-related software systems, including PM, Synapse, BMS, and Cleanroom systems, acting as the primary point of contact for Facilities-owned auditable systems, and manage the Synapse Monitoring System for temperature and pressure-controlled environments.
Oversee the Engineering Change Control (ECC) system as an SME, ensure the closure of all Quality System documentation (Change Controls, Deviations, CAPAs, OOT's), serve as the audit contact for regulatory bodies, manage supplier relationships, report KPIs, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts through Kaizen events and DBS tools, always prioritizing safety and cGMP/GDP compliance.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Education: Ordinary Degree (NFQ Level 7) in an Instrumentation, Automation, Electrical or Mechanical engineering discipline, calibration science, or a related technical field and 6+ years experience
2 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation / calibration and maintenance of complex facility systems within a regulated environment (e.g., medical device, pharmaceutical).
Other essential skill: Demonstrated proficiency in cGMP/GDP principles, including the execution of quality system documentation (Change Controls, Deviations, CAPAs, Out of Tolerance reports) related to calibration and facilities.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Operating and maintaining centralized monitoring systems for environmental controls (e.g., Synapse Monitoring System).
Utilizing Engineering Change Control (ECC) systems for equipment and process modifications.
Applying Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen events, DBS tools) for continuous improvement initiatives.
