The Senior Product Manager, Digital Pathology is responsible actively managing the product life cycle of new and existing digital pathology solutions across the healthcare and life science markets. You will execute product management activities, and drive scanner-focused product enhancements to expand the existing product areas and markets to better serve the entire customer base. Use your unique blend of hands-on market, business, and technical expertise in imaging systems or diagnostic instrumentation to develop big-picture visions and drive to make those visions reality. 

 

This position reports to the Sr Director, Global Product Management and is part of the Digital Pathology Product Management team located in Vista, CA and will be an on-site role.   

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

  •  Oversee Leica Biosystems' digital pathology scanner portfolio product lines from strategic planning and development through launch and end-of-life 

  • Identify market opportunities, assess competition, write business cases, and establish product and pricing strategies  

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and program management to develop new and enhance existing products, ensuring documented requirements represent the true Voice of Customer (VOC), including user personas, workflow mapping, and unmet needs analysis 

  • Work closely with marketing to develop and implement go-to-market plans, working with all departments to execute and launch 

  • Function as the market expert in advanced imaging solutions that support the digital pathology customer base and internal teams  

 

The essential requirements of the job include: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in marketing, life science, engineering or equivalent. 

  • 8+ years of product marketing, product management, or related experience in medical devices 

  • 5+ years of product management (i.e., lead strategy and development of new product development, product life cycle management, business strategy). 

  • Product Management, Product Research, and/or Marketing within a regulated environment (preferably medical device/FDA).  

 

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:  

  •  Ability to travel up to 20% of the time and international travel if needed. 

  

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

  • Clinical laboratory or biotech industries 

  • Digital pathology

The annual salary range for this role is $140,000 - $170,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.  This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
