Job Description
 

We are hiring in our Foster City, CA location: Director, Market Research Integrated Insights, HIV Prevention. The Director will be responsible for managing the tasks, activities, and contractors supporting the HIV prevention business unit. This role will contribute by managing projects of significant complexity requiring cross functional collaboration.

As the Director, Market Research Integrated Insights, HIV Prevention, at Gilead you will ... 

  • Work with key stakeholders, playing a key role in planning, development and execution of the market research plan supporting HIV prevention products.

  • Manage market research studies, including project objective, design, vendor selection and oversight, monitoring of data collection, data analysis and interpretation.

  • Develop relevant and compelling presentation of market research insights for key stakeholders, including Brand Leadership and Senior Management.

  • Keep abreast of key market events and works to understand potential impact

  • Present insights to Senior Management, ability to tailor communications to maximize influence to key stakeholders

  • Work with diverse counterparts (Sales Analytics, Forecasting, Commercial Learning and Development, Managed Markets, Brand team), compiles and analyzes statistical data on past sales and trends to interpret market trends and, as appropriate, recommend corrective courses of action

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years' Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Ten Years' Experience

OR

PhD and Eight Years' Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in market research, sales/marketing analysis, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

  • Significant experience conducting quantitative and qualitative primary and secondary market research.

  • Expertise in a broad range of qualitative and quantitative market research techniques, including appropriate application of data collection and analytic approaches.

  • Strong data analytical and interpretive skills. The ability to meaningfully portray and effectively communicate complex quantitative data in an easy-to-understand format is required.

  • In-depth experience designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative primary and secondary market research.

  • Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly and acquire in-depth knowledge and experience in a complex franchise-specific market

  • Proven experience with Sales and Marketing organizations and experience with pharmaceutical data sources

  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing and changing priorities.

  • Must have strong task management skills to include planning, prioritization, objective setting, and meeting management and plan execution.

  • Positive attitude and solutions-oriented approach. Creative problem solving. Open to new learnings and flexible in changing situations.

  • Ability to develop a market research commercial strategy in support of both in-line products and product launch.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, influence others, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing both to peers and senior management are required.

The salary range for this position is: $226,185.00 - $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
