Senior Medical Secretary - Orthopaedics (Hip and Knee)

Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm

Hybrid working available post probation / 2 days working from home per week (first 3 months on-site 5 days per week)
We're looking for a Senior Medical Secretary - Orthopaedics to join the team and work closely with the Practice Manager. This opportunity would suit an experienced individual who is confident providing high‑level secretarial support within a specialist service and enjoys working with a high degree of autonomy in a small, focused team.
In this senior role, you'll take a lead in supporting the day‑to‑day running of the service. Working fully on site, you'll manage clinic preparation, patient correspondence and complex enquiries, helping ensure patients receive timely, clear and professional communication throughout their care. Reporting into the Practice Manager, you'll be a trusted point of contact within the service and play an important role in maintaining smooth and well‑organised clinics.

What you'll do:
Provide senior‑level secretarial support to the Consultant and service
Lead on clinic preparation, patient letters and accurate clinical documentation
Manage patient enquiries and complaints with professionalism, discretion and care
Coordinate diaries, appointments and correspondence to support efficient clinic flow
Work closely with the Practice Manager to support daily operational priorities
What you'll bring:
Must have been in a Medical Secretary position previously.
Experience working within Orthopaedics.
Significant understanding of Medical terminology.
Strong attention to detail, accurate typing and letter proof reading skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent communication skills
