Job Purpose:
Provide independent commercial and operational oversight of Market Data Services, including vendor financial management, contract compliance, inventory governance, and spend optimization. Acts as a subject matter resource to global business partners and contributes to strategic cost control and data governance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Market Data Administration & Inventory Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date market data inventory records within Optimize Spend (F.I.T.S.), ensuring alignment with contractual terms and business usage
Provide comprehensive administrative support across all Market Data Services processes
Maintain detailed process documentation for invoice processing, pricing updates, and related workflows
Invoice Processing & Financial Control
Analyze and validate vendor invoices against contractual terms and pricing structures, exercising judgment to identify discrepancies, financial risks, and optimization opportunities.
Lead vendor billing issue resolution, engaging directly with vendors to negotiate corrections, enforce contractual terms, and ensure commercial accuracy
Ensure accurate allocation of market data costs across internal business units
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and spend analysis activities
Vendor & Contract Support
Support the MDS senior team with vendor management for existing services and procurement of new data services
Assist with contract reviews, renewals, and amendments, ensuring adherence to internal policies and governance standards
Coordinate contract workflows through internal Legal and Compliance teams
Act as a point of contact for vendor billing inquiries and service-related questions
Service Requests & Stakeholder Support
Assist with new market data service requests and workflow management via ServiceNow
Coordinate with Technology Product and Support teams to onboard new data services and users
Support internal business partners with market data access, entitlement requests, and general inquiries
Ensure global consistency in market data policies, procedures, and usage agreements
Work Experience / Knowledge
Experience working within the investment services industry, with a strong preference for exposure to index and ratings data (2+ years preferred)
Solid understanding of market data commercial models, invoicing structures, and vendor management principles
Hands-on experience managing a market data inventory system (Optimize Spend experience strongly preferred)
Familiarity with major market data vendors, including Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Refinitiv, Exchanges, Rating Agencies, and research providers
Experience reviewing and interpreting vendor contracts and commercial terms
Good understanding of business drivers within an investment management environment
Knowledge of Broker Soft Dollar procedures and methodologies is advantageous
Strong proficiency in Excel and comfort working with financial and usage data
