Job Description

About the Role:

Invesco's Product Research & Insights team in EMEA and APAC is a dynamic group that drives deep analysis of products, markets, and asset flows to uncover insights that sharpen product positioning, strengthen client engagement, inform product development, and unlock growth opportunities across EMEA and APAC.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Serve as the primary subject‑matter expert on Invesco's product suite, competitor offerings, and local versus regional industry trends across APAC public and private markets

  • Conduct in‑depth product research to identify competitive advantages and develop differentiated value propositions for internal and external stakeholders

  • Lead the analysis of client demand trends, fund flows, and competitor positioning, synthesising insights into clear recommendations for product development, enhancement, or rationalisation

  • Partner closely with the regional product development team to assess Invesco's product shelf, identify critical gaps, and support the origination and structuring of new products

  • Act as an APAC ambassador for the broader Product Research & Insights (PR&I) team, leading local initiatives, fostering engagement, and contributing to regional decision making through committee participation and presentations

  • Serve as a strategic partner to regional distribution teams, supporting client engagement through high‑quality product positioning and market‑driven insights

  • Contribute to the client‑led product prioritisation process for APAC, ensuring distribution efforts are aligned with areas of highest client demand and strongest product potential

  • Ensure all activities are in line with Invesco's Conduct principles

Requirement for the Role:

  • University degree, preferably in a discipline related to financial markets; a CFA designation or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.

  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in asset management, ideally in roles that include product research, product positioning, product strategy and effective delivery to senior stakeholders and/or clients.

  • Demonstrated commercial judgement, strong intellectual curiosity, and a high level of execution discipline, with a proven ability to influence outcomes, lead initiatives, and manage complex cross‑functional stakeholder relationships.

Experience in product research and selection, as well as broader product strategy responsibilities, is highly desirable.
  • Deep and broad understanding of the asset management industry, including public and private markets across all major asset classes. Strong expertise in investment vehicles and fund structures (e.g. mutual funds, UCITS, ETFs, SMAs, alternatives), regulatory frameworks, and the functioning of global financial markets.

  • Good knowledge of portfolio construction principles, benchmarks, factor exposures, and risk/return trade‑offs, combined with a practical understanding of how products are positioned, distributed, and evaluated by clients, consultants, and gatekeepers across regions.

Well‑grounded awareness of market structure, macroeconomic drivers, and industry trends shaping client demand, product innovation, and competitive dynamics.

  • Full professional fluency in English.

  • Strong proficiency with product, competitor, and flow‑analysis tools such as Morningstar Direct, eVestment, Broadridge, Preqin, and Bloomberg; ability to translate data into actionable insights is a distinct advantage.

  • Working knowledge of programming or automation tools (e.g. Python, VBA) is a plus, particularly where applied to research efficiency, data analysis, or insight delivery.

  • Highly analytical and structured thinker with strong attention to detail and the ability to navigate complex information with clarity and rigour

  • Proven ability to influence outcomes, lead initiatives, and effectively manage cross‑functional stakeholders across multiple functions and seniority levels

  • Self‑motivated with a strong sense of ownership; demonstrates assertive follow‑through, sound judgement, and the ability to operate independently with limited supervision

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to distil complex or technical content into clear, concise, and compelling narratives

  • Strong relationship‑building skills, with the confidence and cultural awareness to collaborate effectively across geographies, cultures, teams, and business areas
