Job Description
The Purchasing/Buyer Intern will support the procurement team in daily purchasing activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production requirements. This internship provides hands-on exposure to supply chain operations within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist buyers in creating and processing purchase orders (POs) in the ERP system.
Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery schedules, and shipment status.
Support material planning activities to ensure timely availability of parts.
Update and maintain procurement records and databases accurately.
Coordinate with internal teams (planning, warehouse, production) to track material requirements.
Help resolve basic supply issues such as delivery delays or quantity discrepancies.
Participate in supplier communication and documentation.
Assist in data analysis and reporting (e.g., delivery performance, inventory levels).
Support cost-saving initiatives and sourcing activities where applicable.
Perform any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the procurement team.
Qualifications & Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
Strong interest in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
Able to based at Batu Kawan Penang
