Job Summary**
Responsible for inspecting incoming materials, parts, and products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications before being accepted into inventory or production. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities**
* Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and finished goods against engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
* Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators, to verify product conformity.
* Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including acceptance, rejection, and any identified non-conformances.
* Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for rejected materials and collaborate with quality engineering, procurement, and suppliers to resolve issues.
* Verify supplier certifications, test reports, and other required documentation for incoming shipments.
* Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and in good working order.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and company quality procedures.
* Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities as needed.
* Assist with inventory control and material handling as required.
Job Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a technical field a plus.
* 2+ years of experience in quality control or inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
* Strong knowledge of various measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.) and their proper use.
* Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
* Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
* Ability to accurately document inspection results and generate reports.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and suppliers.
* Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed.
