As a Sr. BIOS Engineer at Jabil, Inc., you will play a critical role in the design, development, and debugging of BIOS/UEFI firmware for a variety of embedded and enterprise systems. This position requires a deep understanding of PC architecture, firmware development methodologies, and hardware-software interaction.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Design, develop, and debug BIOS/UEFI firmware for new product introductions and existing platforms.
* Work closely with hardware design teams to integrate and validate new components and platforms.
* Collaborate with software teams to define and implement firmware interfaces and features.
* Analyze and resolve complex firmware issues, including boot failures, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility problems.
* Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for BIOS/UEFI firmware, including stress, stability, and functional testing.
* Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality and maintainable firmware.
* Document technical specifications, design documents, and test procedures.
* Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in BIOS/UEFI and embedded systems.
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in BIOS/UEFI firmware development.
* Strong proficiency in C and assembly language programming.
* In-depth understanding of PC architecture, including Intel/AMD chipsets, processors, and peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, SATA, SPI, I2C, etc.).
* Experience with various BIOS/UEFI development environments and tools (e.g., EDKII, AMI Aptio, InsydeH2O).
* Demonstrated experience in debugging complex firmware issues using debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
* Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and hypervisors.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
