This function includes oversight of consolidation and rationalization actions for the global distribution network, a strategic shift toward an asset-light model, and the build-out of new, future-looking logistics capabilities including partner management, network design, systems strategy, and defining the transition standards required to sustain performance in the future state. The team operates centrally, working in close partnership with regional Deliver teams across EMEA, APAC, LATAM, and North America.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

As a member of the Transformation function, this role supports the definition and realization of the future-state systems strategy for 3PL Partners Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and transport-related systems across the global distribution network. Collaborating with operations, technology and digital teams, the position defines business requirements, process standards, and deployment frameworks required to enable an asset-light operating model, ensuring effective integration between J&J systems and 3PL partner systems. This includes translating operational needs into structured system requirements, supporting system deployment across sites, and ensuring alignment between business processes, systems strategy, and partner capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES / PRINCIPAL DUTIES (Essential Functions)

  • Define and maintain business requirements, process standards, and policies to support WMS and transport-related systems within an asset-light 3PL operating model

  • Translate business and operational needs into structured system requirements, ensuring internal cross-functional alignment and with 3PL partners

  • Support deployment of WMS systems strategy across sites, including integration with 3PL systems

  • Define requirements and standards for transport-related systems, ensuring alignment with operational workflows, shipment execution, and partner interfaces

  • Develop and maintain deployment frameworks and playbooks to support consistent rollout of systems capabilities across regions and sites

  • Ensure alignment between systems strategy and upstream/downstream processes, including order management, warehouse operations, and transport execution

  • Coordinate with IT teams to support system implementation, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and validated

  • Define KPIs and performance measurement frameworks for WMS and transport-related systems, ensuring visibility into system effectiveness and operational performance

  • Support continuous improvement of systems capabilities by identifying gaps, standardizing processes, and incorporating learnings from regional deployments

  • Coordinate with Senior stakeholders across BUs (IT, Ops, Procurement) as well as ensure Vendor/3PL system alignment

  • A minimum of a bachelor degree is required

  • A Master's degree or MBA in Supply Chain, Information Systems / Computer Science, Operations, or a related field is preferred

Experience and functional competencies:

  • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in supply chain systems strategy, logistics technology, or warehouse and transportation management systems implementation, with demonstrated ownership of systems roadmap and architecture decisions in complex, multi-site environments

  • Deep experience in system integration between SAP and 3PLs, including deployment models and integration approaches

  • Strong understanding of transport-related systems, including carrier connectivity, labeling, parcel integration, freight audit, rate management, and shipment visibility

  • Experience defining and executing asset-light or outsourced systems strategies in 3PL-operated distribution networks, including interface design, data integration, and performance monitoring

  • Ability to work in a global, matrix organization: strong communication and presentation skills; ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and collaborate with people from different functions and regions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build business cases, evaluate trade-offs, and present systems strategy recommendations to senior leadership

  • Understanding of ERP-WMS-TMS integration points and the implications of system choices on order-to-cash, inventory management, and transportation execution processes
