Quality Test Engineer II

United States , Alpharetta
Salary: $65,100 – $108,500 Annually

This position in Quality Assurance is responsible for enhancing QA methodology and ensuring compliance by working with management to improve quality and process standards that result in on-time and efficient delivery of systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain automated tests for UI, APIs and backend services (for example, using Playwright/Selenium or Cucumber)

  • Write clear, reliable tests that give fast feedback to the team

  • Test core functionality, error handling, and expected service behavior

  • Collaborate early with engineers to understand requirements and edge cases

  • Support automated testing in CI/CD pipelines

  • Help identify quality risks and improve test coverage

  • Contribute to incident reviews by strengthening tests to prevent repeat issues

  • Learn and apply modern quality engineering practices in a platform environment

 

Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required

  • Experience in software testing or quality engineering (typically 1-2 years, or equivalent practical experience)

  • Experience with test automation, especially for APIs or backend services

  • Experience of Performance testing

  • Familiarity with tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, or similar frameworks

  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and data formats

  • Basic understanding of AWS, Lambda, S3, Cloudwatch

  • Some experience working with CI/CD pipelines

  • Comfortable working in Agile teams and collaborating with others

  • Interest in taking ownership and continuously improving quality

Technical Skills:

  • Moderate knowledge of QA methodologies.

  • Knowledge of process improvement.

  • Knowledge of the software development process.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of QA testing methodologies.

  • Verbal skills - ability to communicate with both technical and nontechnical customers.

  • Written skills/documentation.

  • Basic project management skills.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Basic oral and written communication.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $65,100 - $108,500. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
