about this team
Raw Materials are at the core of lululemon's success. From luon to nulu the Raw Materials Development team is tasked with delivering the next groundbreaking fabric franchise as well as keeping our stores fresh with seasonal drops. Being a cross functional dynamo, you will lead a team of fabric developers through the raw material development process, ensuring that quality, costing and beauty are considered at every turn. While developing industry leading fabrics you will also develop lululemon's future talent.
a day in the life
- To develop and commercialize fabrics that meet the technical & quality standards across the category and business that are appropriate to deliver the highest level of guest satisfaction in accordance with lululemon strategy and business goals.
- To deliver seasonal innovative, performance fabrics on time and at great value that covers both technical & fabric sourcing supplier strategies.
- To model ongoing self-development to the team and ensure that fabric technical skills are developed and optimized to provide better understanding of the fabrics used.
- To maintain current knowledge on vendors and industry developments to deliver fabric technical innovation opportunities to set Lululemon apart from its competitors.
- To provide expertise for the designers and garment technical teams on fabric construction, innovation and on the technical capability of vendors to deliver the products required.
- Ensure understanding and compliance with Company and departmental policies/procedures and internal controls.
qualifications
- University/College Degree required in textiles science. We will consider candidates without a degree if the industry experience demonstrates a strong technical background in Raw Materials.
- 10+ years of textile industry experience and a working knowledge of the industry.
- Experience traveling and working with suppliers outside of North America, preferably Asia.
- Strong knowledge of development techniques, (process/equipment etc.) for fabrics and the fabric development process and timelines.
- Strong technical knowledge gained in manufacturing environment covering all areas of textiles from fibers, yarn, material construction, finishes and printing.
- Strong knowledge of industry testing standards/test reports.
- Strong knowledge of cross-functional team accountabilities and requirements preferred, including design, sourcing, merchandising and quality assurance and calendar.
- Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic work flow.

compensation and benefits package
lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $129,000 - $169,300 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus, subject to program eligibility requirements.
