Planning - Associate Director - Cities & Places

We’re looking for an experienced Planning Lead to take accountability for planning and project controls across a portfolio of complex construction projects and programmes. This is a senior role with real influence - leading teams, shaping delivery strategy, and ensuring projects are planned, monitored and controlled to the highest standards.

You’ll work closely with clients, project teams and senior stakeholders, providing trusted insight, leadership and assurance across planning, scheduling and performance management.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing planning across project portfolios.
  • Implement robust planning and controls.
  • Managing planning on complex programmes.
  • Delivering insightful schedules and performance analysis.
  • Advising on programme risks and recovery.
  • Supporting senior leadership and business development.
  • Mentoring and develop high‑performing planning teams.
  • Strengthening client and stakeholder collaboration, championing responsible delivery.

You’ll need to have:

  • Expertise in planning tools, project controls and large‑scale delivery.
  • Strong analytical and assurance capability.
  • Confident communicator influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Degree‑qualified; pursuing relevant professional accreditation and CSCS‑certified.
  • Working towards, or holding, chartership or professional accreditation (e.g. APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE or similar)
