Practice Overview

Oliver Wyman's Energy practice distinguishes itself by the value it creates for clients. We help electricity generators, retailers, energy and mining companies address strategic and operational challenges through proven, results-oriented approaches. We help clients to understand and map participation models in new and emerging sectors including renewables and storage, virtual power plants, electric vehicles, hydrogen, and carbon reduction pathways.  We bring state-of-the-art problem-solving tools and deep industry knowledge tailored to the situations and needs of our clients to support them in pursuing the right opportunities with the best tools. We have completed hundreds of engagements for leading entities across Australia, Europe, North America and the Middle East, creating sustainable shareholder value.

What you will bring

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or project-based, team-oriented environments
  • Energy and Natural Resources industry knowledge, breadth across or depth within one of our practice areas is preferred
  • Track record of leading and managing teams or work streams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast paced and demanding environments
  • Be a self-starters and independent thinker, who works well within a team
  • Contribute to the teams' common aspiration, collective endeavour and shared success
  • Be a clear communicator, using straightforward, open, respectful interaction
  • Embrace balanced lives for consultants, whereby prioritisation and focus are seen as critical
  • Willingness to travel
  • Business-fluent English
